We have an exciting opportunity to join the SARSAS team working on a new project focussing on women over 55.

SARSAS Project Officer

Salary: £22,800 pa (pro rata)

Hours: 15 hours per week (to include occasional weekend work)

Responsible to: Information and Training Manager

Based: Central Bristol with travel across the South West

Fixed term post: Short term contract to 31st January 2020

Pension: 5%

Annual leave: 27 days + bank hols (pro rata)

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a South West wide project looking at the needs and experiences of women 55+ who have experienced rape and/or sexual abuse at any time in their life.

This project will be exploring the scale of the need for women aged 55+, how barriers to support can be reduced, and assisting with creating and campaigning materials looking at this issue. Some of the key tasks you will lead on are a regional needs assessment, arranging focus groups with survivors, and creating support leaflets.

The successful candidate will be a dynamic and self-motivated woman who is passionate about bringing about real change for people who have experienced rape and sexual abuse.

About Somerset and Avon Rape and Sexual Abuse Support:

We are a specialist support service for people in Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset, Somerset, or South Gloucestershire who have experienced any form of sexual violence, at any point in their lives.

SARSAS is an independent charity adhering to Rape Crisis (England and Wales) National Service Standards.
